Day 4- Interview with Sex & London City's Nixalina

After coming across Sex & London City's blog a few weeks ago, I became instantly hooked. The young writer manages to relate to every young woman out there and writes about things that are close to the heart. From dating to fashion, there is literally something for everyone. Due to Nixalina's success with Sex & London City, she has managed to have her own event at the prestigtious London Fashion Week (which I am attending!) with a red carpet, cocktails and celebs. We are VERY lucky to have a quick chat with the amazing Nixalina!

Who is Nixalina, where did it all begin?

Nixalina is one of London's most exciting up-and-coming London socialite. Working, breathing and living the media industry, I have spent the last three years running around the City convorting with celebrities and fashionistas alike.
It began way back when I lived in Norwich, completing my English Lit degree and working as a MUA. I swiftly worked out how to combine my love for fashion & beauty with my skills...hence fresh out of uni I move back down to London & became a fashion & Beauty Writer for top East End Magazine. That's the beginning of my fabulous last 3 years!

So why fashion? 

As I always say, 'fashion is not a passion, it's a state of being.' It's something built in you. I am consistently tuned in to how people look, hold themselves, dress themselves and as they say, first impressions last a lifetime. So fashion is a big deal with regards to how people perceive you as a person!

What's your fave thing to write about?

Got to be love life and dating! I know I know...it's not fashion, but 'Sex & London City' explores the dating world as well as the fashion/beauty of London... & writing about a good ol' dating disaster always puts a smile on my face!

What did you aspire to be whilst growing up? 
I aspired to be a vet, until about 10 years old, then realised I couldnt deal with the blood! Then, as my love for English grew...writer was the only career path on my mind!

You have a london fashion event coming up! How does that feel?

I am BLOWN away. Literally. I can't believe it' happening... my PR is a goddess & without her right now I'd probably crawl into own big stress ball! But it's exciting stress.. bring on the press & my lovely high profile guests! 

What has been the most exciting thing that's happened?

Wow...there has been so many! Would have to say, getting my website signed by an agent was a fabulous time...then getting interviewed for Vogue.com also amazed me! But honestly? This LFW opening press event is topping my charts right now!

What's next for you? 

Next? onwards & upwards! 'Sex & London City' will soon become a household name in the medai industry..so watch this space ladies!
