Fash Soc Catwalk!

Hello there my lovelies,
I hope you are all having a wonderful evening, whether that be getting dolled up to go out or cosying up for a night in on the sofa. I for one shall be doing the latter!
So as you can see from my lack of writing lately, I have been incredibly busy. As President of the Fashion Society, a freelance writer and a third year student, I've had a lot to do lately, not to mention London Fashion Week!

I didn't have the time to write all the LFW posts I wanted to but hopefully you enjoyed some of the great pictures I put up!

I do want to tell you about the Fashion Society's Catwalk though as I am incredibly proud of the hard work that went into it!
Working with Grosvenor's Casino in Cardiff Bay, we were asked to help out with their annual Catwalk for a Cause. With VIP tickets and a full audience, we managed to raise £731 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and I honestly could not be more proud of the models and the girls that helped out.
We thought we would have a kind of Gok Wan esque catwalk with a little Vintage vs High Street to show what Cardiff had to offer. With Next, New Look, ASDA, Matalan and M&Co geering it up for High Street, we paired off outfits that we thought you could achieve with both high street and vintage clothes. Say hello to crochet, pastels and prints as we took on this seasons hottest trends.
We were incredibly lucky to have SAKS doing our girls' hair and MAC doing makeup and all of our models looks absolutely amazing. With 10 looking like they'd just stepped out of the 1940s with red lipstick and flick eyeliner, to 10 wearing the hottest smokey eyes and false eyelashes rocking it for the high street.
For a little half time delight, we had the wonderful singer Chloe Swaby perform a beautiful acoustic set for us. Her gorgeous voice will honestly leave you in awe at her outstanding talent and beautiful personality. She has already supported acts like Tinchy Stryder and Kate Nash and I can honestly say that this girl is well on her way to the top.
You can listen to Chloe here http://www.myspace.com/chloeswaby or watch one of my fave videos of her singing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgckGTgQoS0
Thank you again lovely.
I personally was too rushed off my feet to take any photos but I do have a friend who has some so as soon as I get those I will post them up for you all to see.

Massive thank yous go out to Alex Gravell who literally gave up her life to help for 2 weeks, Hann Davies who had to stand in as a last minute model (She is the Vice Pres of Fash Soc) Jodie Lewis who my backstage angel, Pippa Long who manned the mics and Anna Jones, who became my lovely intern for the day! Also massive thanks to all our models including the girls who helped out last minute, Tom Armstrong who took a lot of photos for us and Zoe Westerman and Laura Lovell for asking us to help them pull it all off!
