I've been very busy lately. Like so busy that the only time I seem to have to myself is at 11pm at night. It's tiring I tell you! I won't reveal too much just yet as I do have a planned post for you guys about what I've been up to, but if you just have a look on my twitter page then you'll know what I'm talking about ;)
So, on Saturday, I had a little night out with friends and decided to keep it low key with my H&M summer dress. I know you guys are used to seeing other bloggers and Jesse on my blog these days but I thought I'd do a rare outfit post myself! I also couldn't miss the opportunity to share a picture of my little bro with Aaron. So adorable!
Dress: H&M, Necklace: H&M, Bag: Primark (?) Lipstick: Soap and Glory super-colour fabu in shade Pom Pom
I promise I'll get back into blogging regularly again but until then, enjoy my She Wears, He Wears posts and Jesse Wears posts which feature every week. Muchos Love,
Yo fashion folk. A few weeks back I mentioned to you that I was going to be starting a new regular Wednesday feature called: She Wears, He Wears.
Well, I want you guys to get involved in it too! As you may know, I'm a teeny bit shy about posting pics of my outfits on here, mainly because half the time I live in jeans and boy tees, but also because I think it's far more fun to celebrate what YOU are wearing (I'm nosy, plus it gives me some inspiration !)
So, I've decided to start this feature so you can send in your outfit posts and then I can pick one to show off every Wednesday! Now, it's up to you how you want to do it. If you're a girl, then you can send one in on your own, or if you have a stylish brother or boyfriend, then you can send one of the two of you together! Also, guys can send one of just themselves too!
All I need is a full length pic of yourself and a little bit about you and obviously your blog, if you have one.
If you want to get involved then email: mia_holt@btinternet.com and I can send you all the details!

Last Thursday I was invited along to the annual #ladiesnight event at St David's shopping centre in Cardiff. The night is always a big one on the calendars of many young girls, women and students who live in the area as nearly all of the shops and restaurants put discounts and offers on their goods all night!
I went along to the beauty showcase at John Lewis where we were treated to a small goody bags as well as canapés and cocktails! You could also get mini beauty treatments done by some of the big names in beauty such as Chanel, Dior and Benefit. There were also little beauty demonstrations being done by the make up artists from Nars which showed us a range of techniques and tips.
For me, pay day was a little while off so I spent my night catching up with some of the lovely Cardiff fashion bloggers such as Emily, Louise, Gem, Laura and Georgia. We were treated to a lovely bloggers and press reception at Wagamamas which of course included some little nibbles here and there, although my table seemed to be invisible to some of the waiters :P
The event itself a literally a fashion extravaganza. There's not only huge discounts but also lots to entertain you such as candy floss stalls, snow cones, a walking fashion show and a beauty bus! I didn't have time to go in there but it looked amazing. Think - a big red London bus in the middle of Cardiff giving you free make overs!
Anyway, I had a great night and I can't wait for the next one. It's always one of the most exciting nights of the year. Well done St David's!
To those of you who have read my little blog before, I have mentioned quite a few times that I'm an advocate for raising awareness of panic attacks and anxiety. For many years, I've suffered with anxiety and panic attacks. Don't ask me where they came from because I have absolutely no idea. I find it quite difficult to talk about because I think the stigma surrounding the issue is still there and even though I try my best not to feel overpowered by it, I still feel like it's quite a difficult thing to openly discuss. Personally, I've managed to tackle the demon that is anxiety with the help of my family, boyfriend and friends. I wish I could tell you how I did this but honestly, it took me quite a long time to come to terms with it. I find that the more attention I pay to a worry, the worse it becomes. This is completely different from person to person so please, if you are finding something hard, talk to your friends and family about it. My anxiety came from worries. Insane worries which seemed ridiculous when I actually said them out loud but to me, they were very real. The more I thought about them, the worse they'd get and in the end, I'd get myself into a bit of state over something that shouldn't have affected me at all. I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about the things I used to worry about because I've learnt how to keep them at bay. One of the main things that I think my anxiety affected was my social life. My anxiety stopped me from going places and doing things and I became someone that my friends maybe wouldn't have recognised. What I felt was worse was that the people who were meeting me for the first time in University thought that this was the person I was which kinda made me realise that I had to sort it all out. After a tough half a year in 2012, I finally chilled out and started looking after myself in July-ish where I went on holiday with my cousins and left my mobile at home. Just one week away allowed me to have some time to myself where I was able to take those lovely long walks on the beach on my own and gave me the time to feel free of any problems, troubles and worries. Even now, I honestly think that that one week gave me the break I needed to make a change with my anxiety. It's not been over 6 months since I last felt a smidge of anxiety. That's 6 months free of panic attacks and honestly, it feels incredible. I'm happy, content and relaxed. The reason why I wanted to bring this up is because I think I need to start saying "yes" to more opportunities like Zoe from the blog Zoella does. When you say "yes" you are opening your life to SO many more possibilities and it allows you to try things that you probably wouldn't have tried before. You never know, you may say "yes" to something that turns out to open a huge and important door in your life. It's incredibly important and vital that bloggers like Zoe who have a strong following of readers discuss issues like anxiety because it means that the girls and guys who look up to her can see that anxiety and panic attacks can affect anyone and everyone. And, with more magazines like Glamour and their "Hey, It's Okay" campaign encouraging young girls to come out and talk about their struggles, I hope that more people feel confident enough to tackle the issue. I know that I do write about this issue quite a lot on my blog, even though I do say that I find it incredibly hard to do so, but I just hope that if I can talk about it then you guys can too and hopefully more people can kick anxiety in the groin like I have. I'm not naive, I know that this will be with me for the rest of my life but I know that I'm strong enough to not let it affect my life to the extent that it used to. It's NORMAL to feel a bit of anxiety. It's life's way of allowing us to assess situations and dangers but it's not normal when it affects your life every single day. With the help of my incredible boyfriend, who has more patience than I could ever have, I know I'll be fine. So it's about time you were as well. As I lay here in my bed writing this post, there are millions of others probably doing the same. It seems as though lately, the blogging buzz has taken off and people are finally paying attention to the amateur writers out there. With bloggers becoming more and more influential over designers and editors alike, it's becoming even more important to write that unique post or take that breathtaking photo. So what do you need to make it? Is it luck or it is hard work? I have no idea. I have only been writing this blog since September and I think I have been incredibly lucky in what has happened to me. I have written some interviews with some up and coming designers and some established TV personalities and I have had the opportunities to work with some of the newest leading names in the fashion industry. Up until now, my blog was always just a place for me to write some extra articles so I could keep a list for myself, however, now it feels as though my blog could really take me somewhere. Maybe, one day, it will be me sitting at the front row of London Fashion Week, blogging about the latest catwalk trends. I hope so. I wish. I'm going to. The thing is, it does take luck. Out of the thousands and thousands of talented writers out there, only a few hundred may make it and I am determined to be one of them. Writing is slowly becoming my life. I take my diary wherever I go and a notebook under my arm. I'm going to throw everything into this blog because one day, it's going to take me places that I could only dream about going.
