Mimi hits London Fashion Week!

As a blogger, London Fashion Week is a big scary world, but when given a press pass, I had to dive right in.
I never thought that I would be given such a key to the world of fashion but luckily and amazingly, I was granted one by the British Fashion Council. Now, I know that a lot of my readers love to know behind the scene secrets and have an insight to the fashion world that may otherwise be unavailable to them.
My press pass allowed me to go behind the scenes at the the Somerset House exhibitions and see some of the already established designers as well as some of the exciting new talent that is emerging.

When I first arrived at Somerset House, the overwhelming importance of the event really hit home and I felt totally out of my comfort zone. With my flat peep toes shoes, black maxi dress and my massive overnight bag, I totally didn't fit in with the sea of fashionistas. After meeting a few designers and explaining that I was a blogger, my confidence began to rise so I made my way to the bathroom, put some bright red lipstick on, cat flick eyeliner and my ASOS suede peep toe wedges and hit the shows.
This was probably my one chance to make an impact on people so I took a deep breath and headed back around to where I'd previously been.
I chatted casually to the gorgeous Amber Atherton about my love for My Flash Trash and how my boyfriend had bought me the tea cup ring my birthday, and confidently handed out my homemade business cards like a pro!

I finally felt like I was apart of everything and spoke to as many people as I could.

Somerset House is like nothing I had seen before. The amount of times I got lost was unbelievable and I ended up back at the same exhibitions over and over again! After mixing with the new young designers, like Charlotte Taylor and Katy Bell, I made my way to the well known names like Nicole Richie. The clothes were absolutely adorable and the finish on them, I'm sad to say, really does set them apart from the high street.Unfortunately for me, my House of Holland tickets didn't come back in time so I couldn't go to the catwalk show. I was so devastated. However, the catwalk was situated in the courtyard and so I could gaze happily at the models walking past and the occasional celebrity, Hello Olivia Palermo! The people walking around the courtyard were undoubtedly looking to be papped by the numerous Photographers who were hanging around, and, most of them deserved to be! Their clothes pushed many boundaries and turned many heads! I saw everything from beetle crushers and tutu skirts to blue hair and over sized bow ties! Many of these were young girls looking to be spotted and I'm sure many of them were.
Towards the end of the day, I took one more opportunity to tour the
exhibitions and take as many photographs as I could, purely for you lovelies! I couldn't possibly put it into words what my first London Fashion Week was like. Hopefully, the photos will show you what it was really like.
