Afternoon lovelies!
Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to John Lewis' Christmas Press Party in Cardiff. I love going to these events as it gives you a great insight into shop's ideas and products for the next season. Set up in the beautiful Peppermint Bar and Kitchen on the equally magical Mill Lane, the showcase showed off some of John Lewis' exciting new gift ideas. From new make up to the season's hottest dresses, there was a display from nearly every range.
As we entered, we were given a glass of champagne and introduced to the range of things on offer. Clothes, homeware, make up, skin care, perfume, toys, gadgets: it was unbelievable.
As a fashion lover, I obviously made my way straight to the dresses and a few beautiful garments caught my eye. It was clear that John Lewis' theme was silver and sparkle as nearly every item had some sequin detail. Even the shoes glittered!
After moving around the room, with pick a mix, camera and champagne in hand, I came across the homeware section. Now, as many of you remember, last year, John Lewis' was decorated in bright Christmas baubles from pink to green to blue. This year, there were three key themes on display: Scandinavian, White Pearl and Jazz. Scandinavian was my favourite as it was incredibly detailed and traditional. Warm reds, crisp whites and stitched cloths draped over the table. It was clearly my ideal Christmas.
However my mother would have loved the White Pearl display. She has always been a fan of an alternative Christmas tree and last year, me and my brother spent ages trying to convince her not to buy a black Christmas one. With white napkins, a white tree and white and silver decorations, you could clearly see this was a classic beauty look suited to anyone who liked a sparkling Christmas. Jazz, similar to last year's theme, was bright and bold and added a bit of modern fun to Christmas decorations.
As I was given my second drink (a classic cosmo) and a selection of beautiful canapes, I moved on to the beauty and skin care section which consisted on some of the shop's most prestigious brands. Here, there was a selection of some of the gift ideas that will be featured in John Lewis this year. Each box was beautifully decorated and would make a delightful gift. My favourite product that I sampled had to be the Origins peppermint temple balm. It was incredibly soothing on the head and back and is definitely on my Christmas list!
What was so lovely about going to the press event was that I saw some of Cardiff's other bloggers too. It was lovely to catch up with them whilst being pampered and surrounded by cocktails and gifts.
I can honestly say that if this small room was anything to go by, then John Lewis has really pushed the Christmas boat out this year and its customers are in for a truly magical time!
I want a jam jar cocktail right now! we should have a blogger social in there before Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteLoving all my Liz Earl goodies, not used that brand before. Hopefully bloggers in Cardiff will get more press invites now.
