Diary of an Intern- Day 2

London is a weird place, full of suits and heels and people who have the ability to walk around the underground whilst still reading their latest book. I feel like such a small town girl (cue Journey)  in a massive city, swamped by the concrete skyscrapers that are towering over me.
Making my way into the office, I pick up my LOOK pass (you litterally cannot even go into the toilet here without a pass!)  and confidently head for the LOOK doors.
I already feel like I've worked here for months as I sit at my desk and read my emails. Jo pops over to say morning and I go through my daily routine of reading newspapers and making calls.
I spend most of my day phoning around SKY, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 to see what releases there are lined up for Autumn 2011 so that all the writers are up to date! 
After Lunch, I had a little chat with Jo (who is wearing a gorgeous long pleated Blue maxi skirt) and she gives me some projects to work on for tomorrow. (if you want to know what, then buy the magazine ;) ). She also gives me some advice and asks me about what kind of things I love doing, so I casually slip in that I'm President of Cardiff Fashion Society and she says I could go on a fashion shoot with the girls!
Lush!
I end the day by talking to assisstant Editor, Claire, who just happends to originally from Aberycynon (which is a town in the Welsh Valleys near my hometown!). She gives me some great advice on what to do in the future and where to go for further study!
After work, I head to Oxford Circus to find some cute little office shoes. I feel so small in the office that I think I need some little heels to boost me up! Being 5ft 2 has its disadvantages! However, I fail at my mission and head home back to Hackney whilst singing Professor Green's "Jungle" in my head- repeating the line "Welcome to Hackney". Life is good.
