LFW: The Catwalks

This year, I was very lucky to be able to see a few catwalks including the Corrie Nielson, Felder and Felder and Fyodor Golan. The shows were absolutely mesmerizing and words cannot describe how much I loved each and every one of them. I thought I would write a little bit about them for you guys to have  an insight into the world of lfw.

Corrie Nielson:
Corrie's catwalk was the first catwalk that I have ever been to and I was completely in awe at the breathtaking designs. The clothes were all clearly a work of art for Corrie and you could see the amount of creativity that this fabulous woman has. As the show lights went low, the echoing sound of the scottish bagpipes whirled around the huge catwalk space and everyone's eyes focused in on the front of the catwalk, eagily waiting for the first model to appear. We were not disappointed. The whole show was a magical mix of tartan and texture with beautiful dresses and structured peplums. What I loved about these designs was the way they flowed down the catwalk. The beautifully cut material was cleverly stitched and sewn in a way which allowed you to see depth and movement. The carefully positioned pleats on the jackets and skirts gave the clothes a real presence on the catwalk and I think I loved every single look!  Nielson has previously worked for designers such as Vivienne Westwood and I think this is evident in the intricate and bold designs that she creates. Every item was beautifully creative and brave yet simple and elegant which is what I think made this show so breathtaking.
