Yesterday, the news of another dream collaboration worth taking notice of landed in the email boxes of fashion and art lovers everywhere. That collaboration was of course Alexander McQueen x Damien Hirst.

In celebration of Alexander McQueen's 10th anniversary, the brand is collaborating with renowned artist Damien Hirst whose past work includes the infamous For the Love Of God sculpture: a platinum cast of an 18th century human skull encrusted with 8,601 flawless diamonds, including, a pear-shaped pink diamond located in the forehead that is known as the Skull Star Diamond.

The collaboration will produce and exclusive collection of thirty limited edition designs of the iconic McQueen scull scarf - once dubbed "the most wanted scarf in Hollywood" and a favourite among celebs such as Nicole Richie, The Olsen Twins and Kate Moss.

The scarves are said to be adapted from Hirst's Entomology series, one of Hirst's works which started in 2009, and will feature butterflies, bugs, spiders and other insects which have been worked to form kalediosopic geometric shapes. We can expect luxurious materials in the forms of pongé, twill, chiffon and cashmere which will start at around £315 (ouch).

The collection launches mid November, so you've still got quite a while to save up those pennies to nab one of these incredible designs. When you have two renowned names like Hirst and McQueen working together, you know you can expect amazing things and this, is a very, VERY amazing thing.
